What is BLIK?
BLIK is an innovative mobile payment system launched on the Polish market in 2015. This project was the result of a joint initiative of Poland's leading banks, aimed at simplifying and speeding up the process of transferring money within the country. BLIK quickly gained popularity due to its simplicity, reliability and efficiency.
Currently, the BLIK system is supported by 18 leading Polish banks. Here are some of them:
- PKO Bank Polski;
- Santander Bank Polska;
- BNP Paribas;
- mBank;
- Bank Millennium.
The number of BLIK transactions reached one billion from January to August 2023. This payment system has become one of the most preferred payment methods in Poland, with over 14 million users by the end of June 2023.
The BLIK mobile applications were downloaded 25.9 million times, with around 13 million users making regular payments through it.
How does it work?
BLIK is based on the generation of unique one-time codes, which ensures a high level of security. It also features a simple and straightforward interface, making the mobile payment process intuitive even for beginners.
In order to use a transfer via BLIK, you need to have an account in one of the Polish banks that support the system. In Profee you can choose the option to pay via BLIK — you will not have to enter your card details and the process will be even easier.
