World Cup 2026 in Canada: Tips
FIFA 2026 Canada basics: Host cities, stadiums, and match schedule
Canada hosts 13 matches in total: six in Toronto and seven in Vancouver. If you plan to visit both, make sure you have enough time for a 5-hour flight to get from one city to the other before a game starts. As for the World Cup 2026 dates, the first Canadian match is on June 12th, while the last is on July 7th.
FIFA 2026 in Toronto
All matches in Toronto will be played at the BMO Field Stadium – or simply ‘Toronto Stadium’ for the tournament. The capacity is 45,000, so you can expect huge crowds.
How to get to the Toronto Stadium: The easiest option for fans is to use public transport and bikes, or simply walk to the stadium. Check the GO train, GO bus and TTC’s 509 Harbourfront or 511 Bathurst streetcars schedules.
If you choose a car, be aware that there will be no designated parking in the nearby area.
‘Toronto is ready to welcome the world. The whole world will experience Toronto as the safe, affordable and caring city that it is. As millions tune in and visitors arrive from across the globe, this tournament is our opportunity to showcase the strength of our communities and the spirit that brings people together.’ – Mayor Olivia Chow, March 3rd, 2026.

How to get to the Vancouver Stadium: Ride the SkyTrain to Main Street–Science World Station or try bus routes 17, 19, N8 or others depending on your location. Google Maps works well in Vancouver, so you can rely on it.
‘We’re ready to welcome the world with open arms and create unforgettable memories for fans, families, and future soccer stars alike. From the pitch to our public spaces, this is going to be a celebration of culture, community, and the beautiful game.’ – Mayor Ken Sim, June 11th, 2025.

FIFA 2026 tickets: How to buy, prices, and resales
All FIFA World Cup tickets are sold online through the official website, not at the venue. You must download the FIFA app, where your ticket will be stored – screenshots or printed copies are not accepted. Follow these steps to buy a correct FIFA 2026 ticket:
- Create an account: You need a free FIFA ID to purchase tickets or enter stadiums. You can register via the FIFA ID registration.
- Buy tickets: Currently, we’re at the Last-Minute Sales phase. Tickets are dropping on a first-come, first-served basis on the Official FIFA World Cup Tickets Portal. You will enter a digital queue when you visit the site. As of May 25th, there are still some spare tickets left for the Canadian matches.
- Store the ticket in the app and use it at the venue.
If you’re ready to overpay for a one-of-a-kind experience, grab tickets with hospitality packages (they include guaranteed seats, food, and lounge access).
Costs and resales
FIFA 2026 Canada prices jump from 82 CAD to over 2,100 CAD, depending on the match and seat category.
- Standard group matches: about 82 CAD to 610 CAD
- Opening match: 486–2,391 CAD
- Round of 32: 185–658 CAD
- Round of 16: 233–808 CAD
The prices are approximate and not set because FIFA follows the dynamic price system.
If you see that all tickets are sold out, you can test your luck on the Official Resale Marketplace. However, never buy a ticket from a third-party seller. Toronto recently passed a law banning ticket resales, so they are not even on the FIFA's secondary market. Buying a ticket from someone may be tempting, but you risk losing money, time and energy – and since entries this year are pricey, we recommend sticking to the official channels only.
Stay alert: Football scams you should know about – how to spot fake tickets, streams and more.

Beyond stadiums: Official fan festivals and unofficial fan zones
From June 11th to July 19th, fans may experience the magic of World Cup 2026 in Canada at the official festivals. You don’t need FIFA World Cup tickets to attend the events. The moment you go on the streets, you might become a part of a huge party before or after the match. Local bars, public spaces and smaller venues will also attract masses of cheering supporters.
Celebrate in Toronto
The official FIFA Fan Festival™ Toronto runs from June 11th to July 19th at the historic Fort York and The Bentway. Mini-golf, live match screenings, official merch stores, LEGO games and over 30 food vendors serving flavours from around the world will wait for you there.
- Free access: The basic ticket is free, but you still need to secure it online.
- Premium upgrades: If you want a better view, you can buy passes for the Garden Pavilion (100 CAD), the Pitchside Terrace (150 CAD), or the Casamigos Clubhouse (300 CAD).
As for the unofficial zones, expect Yonge-Dundas Square, the Distillery District, and Liberty Village to be flooded with fans before and after matches at nearby BMO Field.
Celebrate in Vancouver
The official Vancouver Fan Fest takes place at the PNE (Hastings park) from June 11th to July 19th. Seats are located in a 10,000-seat open-air amphitheatre, where some of the matches will be livestreamed. Football won’t be the only available entertainment – to spark the energy, FIFA organised live concerts from artists like Walk Off The Earth, Lazy Syrup Orchestra, Shred Kelly, and more.
- Free access: You don’t need to buy a ticket for a free area. However, if it’s packed, they won’t let you in.
- Premium upgrade: Choose the day and buy first-come, first-served or reserved seat tickets via TicketLeader's Fan Festival page.
Non-official areas: Walking parties are expected to happen on Robson Square and the West End. Some late-night celebrations will likely happen in The Granville Entertainment District.
World Cup 2026 in Canada: Tips
As a traveller, you first must find out whether you need to apply for a visa or not. Unfortunately, buying FIFA 2026 tickets doesn’t automatically let you into the country. If you haven’t checked the visa status yet, do it now, as a standard Visitor Visa can take weeks to process. If the legal part is fine and secured, check more tips to make your FIFA World Cup 2026 Canada experience smooth:
- Stay connected: The tournament crosses three borders – if you do not plan ahead, your phone bill will surprise you. A North America Regional eSIM like Airalo or MobiMatter stops roaming charges before they start, meaning you can actually open your maps and download your FIFA 2026 tickets when standing outside the stadium gates.
- Where to sleep: Prices are going to skyrocket, so secure a room immediately – just make sure you can cancel it if your plans change. Staying downtown will drain your budget quickly, so look further out near the train lines, like Richmond or Burnaby for FIFA 2026 in Vancouver, or Mississauga and North York in Toronto.
- Money and tipping: You will be using the Canadian Dollar (CAD). You can tap your phone or card almost everywhere, but keep a bit of physical cash handy for quick street food vendors. When it comes to eating out, leaving 15–20% at tables and a dollar or two per drink at the bar is a standard social expectation you cannot skip while visiting for FIFA 2026 in Canada.
- Pacing yourself: The FIFA 2026 schedule is intense, but don’t forget how massive Canada actually is. Flying between coasts takes hours and drains your energy, so make sure to build empty rest days into your World Cup 2026 dates if you plan to travel back and forth.
