Audible price in Germany: plans and costs

Audible price in Germany starts from 6.99 EUR per month. For 6.99 EUR a month, you can choose one audiobook, while the 9.95 EUR Premium plan gives you one book that stays in your library even after you cancel. That may sound like a lot, but buying a popular title separately can easily cost around 12–20 EUR. If you listen to two or more books a month, there are larger monthly and annual plans too – let’s compare them together.

Audible plans in Germany

There are three main monthly options: Audible Standard, Premium and Premium with two credits

Subscription plan features are based on information available in September 2026, verify at Audible.de. 

Standard is cheaper, but you lose access to the books if you cancel. Premium costs more, but the books you buy with credits stay in your library.

Audible Standard: 6.99 EUR per month

For 6.99 EUR a month, you can choose one audiobook from Audible’s catalogue. You can download the book and listen offline, but it works more like borrowing than buying. If you don’t choose a book, next month you’ll still be able to choose only one book, not two. The unused monthly choices don’t add up. If you cancel Standard, you lose access to the audiobooks you selected through the plan. 

Standard is enough if you listen to about one audiobook a month and don’t care about keeping it forever. However, Audible reported that one book is often not enough:

Audible Premium: 9.95 EUR per month

For 9.95 EUR a month, you get one monthly credit (as of 2026, verify at Audible.de). You can exchange that credit for one eligible title from the full audiobook catalogue, even if the book costs 15 EUR, 20 EUR or more. Once you use the credit, the book stays in your library – and even if you cancel the subscription later, you can still listen to it.

Premium also includes a selection of audiobooks, podcasts and Audible Originals that you can listen to without using your credit.

Audible Premium with two credits: 16.95 EUR per month

For 16.95 EUR, you get two credits every month, and that works out at about 8.48 EUR per audiobook if you use both credits (as of 2026, verify at Audible.de). You don’t have to listen to both books straight away. Each month, you can use your two credits to add titles to your library and listen to them whenever you want. Once you’ve bought a book with a credit, it stays in your library even if you cancel later.

Audible annual plans

Audible also has yearly Premium plans: 99.95 EUR for 12 credits or 189.95 EUR for 24 credits (as of 2026, verify at Audible.de). To compare, twelve months of the 9.95 EUR plan would cost 119.40 EUR, so the annual 12-credit plan saves you 19.45 EUR. 

You pay once and get all 12 or 24 credits at the start of the subscription, instead of receiving new credits each month. You can use them whenever you want during the year, and it makes sense if you're a big audiobook fan but have some busy months.

Audible free trial in Germany

You can try Audible Premium free for 30 days if the trial is available on your account. You get one credit, which you can use for almost any audiobook in the catalogue. Pick a book with the credit, and it stays in your library even if you cancel later. During the trial, you can also listen to the audiobooks, podcasts and other content included with Premium.

If you want to continue, you don’t need to do anything. After 30 days, Audible starts charging 9.95 EUR per month. If not, cancel before the trial ends.

You can sign up for and cancel Audible through your Amazon account.

To subscribe for:

1. Go to Audible and sign in.

2. Choose the plan you want.

3. Start the free trial if it’s available for your account.

4. Add or confirm your payment method.

5. Confirm the subscription.

To cancel:

1. Sign in to Audible.

2. Open My Account.

3. Find your membership.

4. Choose Cancel membership.

5. Confirm.

If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, you need to cancel through the relevant app store instead.
