We try to keep money transfers affordable, but we know that you have lots of other expenses – from paying for rent and utilities to buying the tickets for your favourite band's concert. Saving more and spending less requires the stamina and expertise of a financial guru (whose coaching may cost a lot, unfortunately). Luckily, we have artificial intelligence! Try these AI prompts to manage your budget like a pro – for free.
What you will find in this text
If you google something like 'common AI prompts for managing your budget', you may find extensive lists of 'best AI prompts', 'top-10 AI prompts' or even ‘180 AI prompts' (have anyone actually tried at least half of them?). Some, like 'check the list of my subscriptions and figure out if I actually need them', are pretty simple, and the results are unlikely to surprise you: if you are short on money, paying for subscriptions is unwise. While specific prompts are suitable for everyone, others may be useless, particularly for those working abroad. Therefore, even though there are plenty of lists of 'top AI budgeting prompts' on the web, not all of them may indeed help you improve your financial planning. We want you to get valuable insights and help improve your budget strategy, so we took the AI matter seriously.
- We collected some popular prompts from a variety of lists by 'AI experts'
- We ran them through AI tools that are currently in the spotlight, asking the AIs themselves to check if the prompts are useful.
- We asked AI to adjust the prompts specifically for expats
- We collected some insights and advice to make your AI-powered budget review productive rather than just entertaining.
To make your AI-powered financial boost even more efficient, we advise you to review your spending and expenses (unless you have not done so already, of course) before turning to financial advice from AI.

Even though Claude seems to be sceptical about financial tracking apps, we still advise you not to give up on them – you may skip prompting and go straight to our budget apps list. An additional advice from Claude is to combine the last two prompts to get an efficient and detailed financial strategy.
Just like Chat GPT, Claude adds more value to detailed prompts and suggests focusing on financial goals. However, you may have noticed that the two AI tools have different patterns of prioritising and evaluating prompts, so the results you will get may look different as well.

AI counselling tips
Finally, let us give you some advice on discussing your financial situation with AI – to make sure that the prompts above will indeed supercharge your financial strategy.
- Be ready to provide details. The more you tell about yourself, the more utile the response will be. Be specific about your expenses and nuances. But don’t share your card details or anything that could potentially harm you.
- Be goal-oriented. Both Claude and Chat GPT kept telling us to provide precise financial goals to give actionable tips – quite useful even when planning your financial strategy on your own.
- Use different tools. We compared Chat GPT and Claude to show that the evaluation and the improvement may look completely different. Try prompting Gemini or DeepSeek – and you will see a different approach (spoiler alert: DeepSeek is likely to provide you with a final prompt combining all the ones you send).
- Request to improve your prompts rather than just give answers. Ask your AI to make your prompts more specific and tell you what can be improved. Finally, you may demand that your AI tool write a prompt and criticise it – have fun!
- Ask additional questions. Do not get satisfied with the first response you will get. Ask additional questions, request a detailed action plan and pay enough attention to the follow-up tips provided by most AI tools.
- Stay safe. Some AI tools require paid subscription – do not try to use hacked versions to save money. Never mention sensitive details, like your card's CVC, passwords, etc.
- Be polite. Hopefully, the rise of the machines won't take place anytime soon – but just in case, be nice to them. Adding additional 'thank-you' messages may be too expensive for your AI providers, but a 'please' in the prompt requires no additional effort.
Here's a bonus financial tip: never overpay for your money transfers. Send funds with us – with little to no fees and favourable exchange rates.
