Budget flights from Germany to Pakistan: PIA tickets and other options

Flying with PIA from Germany

If you want to fly with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), there is one thing you need to know first: they do not actually fly directly to Germany right now.

Direct PIA flights returned to London and Paris recently, but Frankfurt and Munich are still waiting to get back on the list. You can keep an eye on piac.com.pk for news, but for now, you should expect to book a connecting flight.

You can still fly PIA if you really want to, but the options are not always the most practical.

• Connecting through Europe. The PIA website sells tickets from cities like Berlin to Islamabad, but these usually come with a long 20-hour layover in Paris.
• The 'self-transfer' via the Middle East. Some people try to save money by flying a major carrier like Emirates to Dubai or Doha and then booking a separate PIA ticket for the final leg. However, because these are two separate bookings, PIA is not responsible if your first flight is late. If you miss that second connection, you will likely lose your money and have to buy a new ticket on the spot.

Unless you are a loyal fan or found a deal that is too good to pass up, it is much simpler to book a single-ticket connection with Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, or any other airline.

Choosing your airline

For flights under 600 EUR, Pegasus and Air Arabia offer the lowest base fares from Germany to Pakistan, though both charge extra for checked luggage – Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways include baggage in the ticket price.

• Pegasus Airlines: Cheap

As of 2026, Pegasus’ budget flights are cheap (400–600 EUR round-trip fare/200-300 EUR for a single ticket), but their baggage rules are very strict. Basic fare only allows a tiny 3 kg bag that has to fit under your seat. If you need a normal cabin bag and a suitcase, you have to choose the "Essentials" option. Think of your luggage in advance: buying extra space at the gate costs 50-100 EUR more than online. Read what’s included in your tickets carefully to avoid hidden charges.

• Turkish Airlines: All-rounder

Turkish Airlines uses the main Istanbul Airport (IST) as its layover hub. Fares usually fall between 400 EUR and 600 EUR per ticket in 2026. The big advantage here is that a 23–30 kg baggage allowance is included in the price. You also get decent dishes during the flight without any hidden charges.

• Emirates & flydubai: Flexible 

Emirates usually charges between 370 EUR and 700 EUR. For this price, you get comfortable seats, tasty food and pleasant staff. Pay close attention to their baggage tiers: "Special" only gives you 20 kg, while "Flex" goes up to 30 kg. You might see lower prices and discounted airfares on flydubai, but remember they charge extra for services and checked bags, which can end up costing you the same as a full-service ticket. • Air Arabia: Munich-specific

Air Arabia is a low-cost carrier based in Sharjah (SHJ), and its only departure point in Germany is Munich (MUC). If you can get to Munich easily, you can find tickets around 350 EUR via Sharjah (SHJ). Just remember to pre-book your bags in 20 kg or 30 kg blocks, as the base fare includes almost nothing beyond hand luggage.

• Qatar Airways: For heavy luggage

Qatar Airways flies through Doha (DOH) and is a favourite for families. While they are on the pricier side (400–600 EUR for a single ticket), they allow up to 35 kg on certain fares. Their 24/7 hub in Doha also makes those unavoidable long layovers at least bearable.

Picking the booking time

• Advance purchase discount: Booking at least 49 days before you fly can save you a lot of money. Believe us. Waiting until the last moment is the worst strategy if you want to catch a good deal.
• The "Eid Effect": During Eid ul-Adha, prices climb quickly. If you know that you’ll fly home during the Eid, book tickets as early as you can.
